The Tement Winery, situated in southern Styria on the border with Slovenia, focuses primarily on the cultivation of white grape varieties. 95 per cent of its vineyards are planted with varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Morillon and Traminer. The wines, which are grouped under the ‘Steirische Klassik’ label, come from various vineyards and are matured in stainless steel tanks. In addition to the “Steirische Klassik” range, the winery also produces single-vineyard wines, each reflecting the characteristic influence of its specific growing site and matured in both large and small wooden barrels.

The Blauer Zweigelt grapes used in the Tement Zweigelt Selektion thrive on loamy limestone-marl soil. Following natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine matures for six years in small oak barrels before being bottled and sealed with a cork.

This wine has an ageing potential until 2032, during which time it will have the opportunity to develop its aromas to the full.
