Bruichladdich Islay Barley 8 Years Old is a fascinating single malt whisky, made from 100 per cent barley grown on the island of Islay. The barley varieties used – Concerto and Propino – are grown in the fields of renowned farms such as Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach, Dunlossit, Craigens and Sunderland Farms. This whisky is produced without peat, which sets it apart from many other Islay whiskies.

The Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 was distilled and matured for over eight years in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (80 per cent) and a blend of second-fill sherry butts (5 per cent) and second-fill wine casks (15%). This special maturation process gives the whisky its unique complexity and depth.

With an alcohol content of 50 per cent, the flavour of the Islay barley comes into its own, revealing a balanced profile with fruity and malty notes.
