Description
The Weingut Heinrich is situated in Gols in Burgenland. It is run by Gernot and Heike Heinrich. A great wine can only be produced if the vines are thriving. The family’s vineyards are situated in Purbach, Breitenbrunn, Winden, Jois, Neusiedl am See, Weiden, Gold, Mönchhof and Podersdorf. Thanks to the abundant sunshine around Lake Neusiedl, the grapes are able to develop fully, resulting in wines with intense flavours.
Heinrich Pannobile is the result of masterful craftsmanship and combines the essence of Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, which thrive on poor, sandy, gravelly and loamy soils. The grapes are harvested by hand with the utmost care from mid- to late September to ensure they reach their optimum ripeness. After harvesting, spontaneous fermentation takes place, during which the wine rests on the lees in wooden fermentation vats for two to three weeks. Gentle pressing using a basket press preserves the delicate, characteristic aromas and ensures authentic expression. The wine is then aged for 31 months in used 500-litre oak barrels and amphorae, allowing it to develop its profound structure and complex aromas. After ageing, the Pannobile is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
The winemaking process follows the principles of biodynamic agriculture and embodies nature’s eternal cycle. From the gentle hand-picking of the grapes right through to the meticulous bottling, every step reflects a respect for nature, a dedication to the craft and a pursuit of perfection.
