Licor 43, regarded worldwide as Spain’s best-selling premium liqueur, is based on a closely guarded recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation within the family. It combines a selection of exotic fruits with aromatic herbs and is rounded off with a subtle hint of vanilla. This versatile liqueur has been produced continuously since 1924 by the Diego Zamora S.A. distillery in Cartagena. The recipe, which dates back more than 200 years, embodies a time-honoured tradition of craftsmanship and pays tribute to the expertise of baristas.

Licor 43 Cuarenta y Tres Horchata is the result of combining Licor 43 with horchata de chufa, a traditional Spanish drink. Horchata is made from tiger nuts, which are sweetened with sugar and occasionally flavoured with cinnamon and lemon. This plant, one of the first crops to be domesticated, has its origins in ancient Egypt and was brought to Valencia by the Moors, where it is successfully cultivated thanks to the ideal climatic conditions.

The production process for Licor 43 Cuarenta y Tres Horchata involves macerating the ingredients in a mixture of alcohol and water, followed by a careful blending of the ingredients in precise proportions, ensuring a well-balanced blend. Finally, Licor 43 Horchata is homogenised to achieve a smooth and silky texture that rounds off the flavour profile.

This liqueur is gluten-free, lactose-free and is also vegan.
