Nigl Freiheit Grüner Veltliner is an outstanding white wine from the renowned Nigl Winery, situated in the picturesque Kremstal valley in Lower Austria. The Nigl Winery is synonymous with the highest quality and combines traditional viticulture with modern expertise. The name ‘Freiheit’ refers to the historic vineyard plot from which the grapes for this wine are sourced, whilst also symbolising the winemaker’s freedom to create authentic and unadulterated wines.
The grapes for this Grüner Veltliner thrive on loess and primary rock soils, which lend the wine its characteristic minerality and finesse. The climate in the Kremstal, characterised by warm days and cool nights, promotes the development of a lively acidity and intense aromas. After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes are gently processed and fermented under temperature-controlled conditions.
