Aura Gorki Pelinkovac (Croatian: Aura Gorki Pelinkovac – Rakija iz Hrvatske) is a traditional Croatian wormwood-based bitter liqueur, produced in the Istria region with great dedication and according to time-honoured recipes. Pelinkovac – also known as Pelinkovec or Pelinovec – is regarded in Croatia as a true classic amongst herbal spirits and is deeply rooted in the region’s drinking culture.

With an alcohol content of 30.8% vol. and its characteristic bitter flavour profile, this liqueur is reminiscent in its intensity of well-known herbal bitters such as Jägermeister, yet stands out distinctly due to its particularly pronounced wormwood character. The harmonious blend of wormwood, various herbs and roots results in a tart, spicy and slightly medicinal flavour that is appreciated both neat and in mixed drinks.
