Description
Description
MIM Brandy NANA is an exceptional brandy made from cashew apples, which originates from the heart of Ghana and is one of the rarest spirits of its kind in the world. It is produced at the family-run MIM cashew plantation, which covers 760 hectares and is renowned for its organic, sustainably managed farming practices. Around 600 tonnes of cashew nuts are grown there each year – but the real secret lies in a by-product that has hardly been utilised until now: the cashew apple.
Few people know that cashew nuts grow on what are known as cashew apples. These sweet-and-sour, aromatic fruits are extremely perishable – but through skilful processing, MIM has succeeded in preserving their intense aroma through distillation. The freshly harvested cashew apples are pressed, fermented and then processed into a fruity ‘wine’, which is then gently distilled and matured in small oak casks and ex-bourbon casks under tropical conditions. The result is MIM Nana, a brandy with a distinctive character which, thanks to its origin, craftsmanship and exotic raw materials, is a true rarity.
