The Goldenits Heideboden Zweigelt 2022 is a complex, full-bodied Zweigelt red wine from Burgenland that impresses with its depth, fruitiness and soft tannins. With an alcohol content of 13.5 % vol., this wine is a characterful example of its origin: Heideboden, one of the best-known vineyards around Gols, near Lake Neusiedl. The vines grow on sandy black earth soils with a medium to high stone content, as well as on classic gravelly sites – ideal conditions for structure, minerality and ageing potential.

The grapes were harvested by hand between 26 and 29 September 2023. Following careful selection, the grapes underwent a 20-day maceration period and temperature-controlled fermentation to extract the maximum possible fruit and colour. The wine was matured in a combination of used barriques and large wooden casks, which lends it complexity and elegance without masking the variety’s characteristic fruit. The wine was bottled on 30 November 2023 – ready for immediate enjoyment or a few years’ ageing in the bottle.
