The Scheiblhofer Praittenbrunn 2021 is a powerful, internationally inspired red wine of great depth and finesse. It combines the best of two grape varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – in a masterful cuvée that elevates Burgenland’s potential to world-class standards. Grown in the finest Lager vineyards around Andau and vinified with the utmost care, this wine is an expression of modern Austrian red wine-making artistry.

Ageing takes place in two phases of 16 months each in new French barriques, which lends the wine not only structure and depth but also a complex bouquet and ageing potential. With an alcohol content of 15 % vol., tremendous concentration and Scheiblhofer’s signature style, the Praittenbrunn is a monumental red wine – powerful, structured and yet elegant.

The dense texture, the delicate acidity and the distinctive yet ripe tannins give this wine enormous ageing potential until at least 2039, although decanting it now already yields moments of intense enjoyment.
