The Hannes Reeh Cabernet Sauvignon Unplugged 2021, 14.5% ABV, 0.75 l, is a dense, full-bodied and complex premium red wine from Burgenland, which impressively demonstrates just how expressive a single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from Andau can be. It is made from 100 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon from 15-year-old vines that thrive on sparse red gravel and ripen under ideal climatic conditions in the famous ‘Pflaster von Andau’.


Hand-picking guarantees the highest quality, followed by spontaneous fermentation in stainless-steel tanks with a four-week maceration period. The wine is then aged for 16–18 months in barriques, which lends it additional depth, complexity and ageing potential. With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol. and a cellaring potential until 2034, it is both a delight to drink now and a candidate for long-term ageing in the cellar.
