Description
The Netzl Yellow Muscat MUSKATINA 2024 is a particularly aromatic white wine from certified organic cultivation, which combines tradition, terroir and character in a single wine. The name ‘Muskatina’ is a affectionate play on words combining ‘Christina’ and ‘Muskateller’, as Christina discovered her love of wine through this special grape variety. The grapes come from the finest Lager on the Schüttenberg plateau, surrounded by the Maria Ellender Forest, on dry, barren gravel soils and gravelly loess. These soils store heat during the day and cool down rapidly at night, providing the grapes with ideal conditions for developing an intense aroma. The warmer sites of Haidacker and Hagelsberg yield the riper grapes and impart the juicy Muskateller fruit character to the MUSKATINA.
The harvest took place on 14 September 2023 via selective hand-picking into large crates, followed by whole-bunch and single-berry selection. The maceration period varied between eight hours and overnight. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 18 °C lasted 14 days, followed by a four-week rest on the lees and a further four months’ ageing on the fine lees. Thanks to this gentle ageing process, the wine retains its freshness, clarity and lively aromas. With an alcohol content of 12% vol., the MUSKATINA Organic is dry, elegant and approachable – a wine for connoisseurs who appreciate naturalness and authenticity.
