The Erwin Sabathi Gelber Muskateller Ried Krepskogel Südsteiermark DAC 2024 is an outstanding Austrian white wine that embodies the character of Südsteiermark in its purest form. It comes from the Ried Krepskogel, a classified ‘Erste STK’ Lager characterised by its steep, south-facing slopes with an average gradient of 55 per cent. At an altitude of 440 to 515 metres above sea level, the grapes ripen under optimal conditions, cooled by Alpine winds and bathed in intense sunshine.


The Gelber Muskateller grape variety is cultivated here organically and sustainably. Hand-picking guarantees the highest quality, whilst fermentation takes place using natural yeasts in accordance with traditional methods. The wine is then aged for 12 months in large, classic wooden barrels before being bottled with a screw cap. This natural winemaking process and ageing lend the wine elegance, freshness and longevity. With a drinking window of five years or more, it possesses exceptional ageing potential and impressively demonstrates that Gelber Muskateller is not only a light summer wine, but also a structured and long-lived top-quality wine.
