The Clynelish 18 Years Old Waxen Sun is an exclusive bottling from the 2025 Special Releases, presented under the theme ‘Horizons Unbound’. Matured for 18 years, it is the oldest single malt in this year’s series and impressively embodies the elegance and distinctive character of the Highland distillery, Clynelish.


For this exceptional edition, the distillery experimented with different cut points – the crucial temperature ranges at which the master distiller separates the forerun, heart and tail. This precise craftsmanship requires experience, patience and in-depth knowledge to shape the whisky’s optimal character. The result is a single malt with an incomparably sunny profile, characterised by tropical notes stemming from the so-called ‘Pineapple Cut’ experiment. It was matured entirely in carefully selected refill casks, which perfectly showcase Clynelish’s fruity, waxy style. It has been bottled at cask strength at 51.6% ABV, which lends it additional intensity and depth. It is presented in a stylish gift box (UK), which emphasises its limited-edition collector’s value.
