Ron Zacapa Centenario Solera Gran Reserva is an internationally acclaimed premium rum from Guatemala, renowned for its meticulous production process and exceptional ageing method. Produced in the highlands of Guatemala at around 2,300 metres above sea level, this Solera rum matures under ideal climatic conditions, which allow for a particularly slow and consistent development. The base is not a classic molasses rum, but rather what is known as ‘Virgin Sugar Cane Honey’ – a concentrated sugar cane juice that lends this Guatemalan rum its characteristic depth.

Ageing takes place according to the traditional Solera method, in which rum of different ages is blended together. The Zacapa 23 Solera Gran Reserva, as it is often known, is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry and Pedro Ximénez casks. This multi-stage ageing process ensures complexity, structure and harmony. Bottled at 40 per cent, this Solera-aged rum is a multi-layered spirit with an elegant balance. The artful wrapping of the bottle with the traditional petate cord emphasises its Guatemalan origins and makes the Ron Zacapa Centenario 1 litre a visually distinctive bottling too.
