Planteray Isle of Fiji Rum is a tropical and exotic tribute to the breathtaking natural beauty and the rich rum-making heritage of the Fiji Islands. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., this rum epitomises artisanal quality, authenticity and the unmistakable interplay of climate, soil and tradition that characterises Fiji’s terroir.


From the turquoise-blue sea to the dense, green rainforests – Planteray Isle of Fiji is an ode to the beauty of the Fiji Islands. Made from local sugarcane, which thrives in nutrient-rich volcanic soil and is nourished by some of the purest water in the world, the result is an exceptionally aromatic rum. The sugarcane is harvested by hand and processed into molasses at the Lautoka sugar mill. This is then fermented over a period of 4 to 5 days before being distilled in both pot stills and column stills – a combination that gives the rum its depth and balance.


Maturation takes place as part of a double-ageing process: first, the rum matures under tropical conditions in ex-bourbon casks in Fiji, before being shipped to France – a journey that Planteray refers to as ‘Dynamic Ageing’. There, it receives its final finish in Ferrand oak casks, developing a harmonious blend of tropical sweetness and French elegance.
