The name ‘Cinabrio’ is derived from the mineral cinnabar, which in Mayan culture was regarded as a symbol of passion, energy and rebirth – and thus embodies the powerful spirit of this rum.

Made from locally grown sugar cane and distilled in column stills, Cihuatán Cinabrio 12 Años is aged for at least twelve years in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. This long tropical ageing process gives it its smooth texture, aromatic depth and characteristic amber colour. The balance between sweetness, wood and spice is finely tuned and bears witness to the fine art of Central American rum production.
