The Prunotto Barbaresco DOCG 2022 is a signature Nebbiolo from Piedmont and epitomises the classic elegance of the Barbaresco region. The Prunotto estate is renowned for its precisely vinified red wines, which prioritise terroir, structure and ageing potential without compromising on drinkability. The 2022 vintage displays a clear, straightforward character and combines the typical Nebbiolo structure with a delicate balance, making the wine suitable for both early enjoyment and ageing. With a recommended ageing potential until 2031, this Barbaresco DOCG offers ample scope to further develop its complexity and depth, whilst a very harmonious overall composition is already evident.


During vinification, the grapes were destemmed and pressed, followed by maceration for around ten days at up to 28 °C, which allowed the extract, tannins and varietal character to be brought out in a controlled manner. Ageing for 12 months in large and small oak casks, as well as in single-use barriques, combines traditional structure with subtle oak influence, before a further 14 months’ bottle ageing refines the wine even further. Bottled with natural corks, the result is a characterful, long-lived red wine from Italy which, as a Barbaresco 2022, impresses with its clear provenance, meticulous production details and high standards.
