Description
Description
The Hillinger Zweigelt 2024 represents a modern, fruit-driven Zweigelt from Austria and embodies the distinct style of the Leo Hillinger winery. The aim of this bottling is to create an accessible, precise red wine that focuses on varietal character and drinking pleasure. The wine is vinified dry, deliberately emphasising the fruit and the invigorating freshness of this grape variety. With an alcohol content of 13 per cent, the 2024 vintage is well-balanced and light-footed without losing any of its structure, making it suitable for both early enjoyment and short-term cellaring. Its ageing potential of 2 to 4 years underlines the uncomplicated character of this Zweigelt, which is nonetheless well-structured.
Vinification involves maceration in steel tanks with regular pumping over to specifically bring out the fruit intensity and clarity. The deliberate decision not to use oak preserves the varietal freshness and makes the wine particularly versatile. Bottled with a screw cap, this Hillinger Zweigelt embodies contemporary wine enjoyment and ease of use. A serving temperature of 10 to 12 °C is recommended, although the wine is particularly fresh and lively when served at around 10 °C.
