Description
The Heinrich Blaufränkisch Burgenland 2024 is a prime example of Burgenland’s signature grape variety and clearly and authentically expresses its unmistakable character. Blaufränkisch is regarded as the region’s defining grape variety and here reveals its full potential, combined with its terroir and the winemaker’s craftsmanship. The vines thrive on deep loamy soils around Deutschkreutz, which lend the wine its intense fruitiness, structure and a distinctive mineral character. The grapes are hand-picked, carefully processed and then aged in barrels, resulting in depth, balance and elegance without losing their youthful freshness. With an alcohol content of 13.5 per cent, the 2024 vintage is powerful, juicy and, at the same time, approachable.
This Blaufränkisch from Burgenland has been deliberately vinified to be a delight to drink even in its youth, whilst retaining the substance and structure needed for further development. Ageing in wood enhances the natural fruit and adds extra vibrancy and length. The wine reveals its perfect balance of fruit, spice and mineral depth most beautifully when served at a temperature of 16 to 18 °C.
