Rum Nation Mauritius 8 Years Old Cask Strength Rum is an expressive limited edition, limited to 1,983 bottles, from the independent bottler Rum Nation, and is clearly aimed at lovers of powerful, unadulterated rums. This cask-strength rum is made from sugar cane molasses and originates entirely from Mauritius, where it was allowed to mature under tropical conditions. It was initially matured for five years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a further 40 months in first-fill bourbon casks, which lends the bottling additional depth, structure and intensity. This matured Mauritius rum was bottled without dilution at 54.9% ABV, thereby preserving its full cask character.
