The Pfneisl Shiraz MARIA’S VINEYARD 2022 is an expressive, high-quality Austrian red wine from Central Burgenland, which impressively reflects the winery’s long-standing passion for the Shiraz grape variety. Produced by the renowned Pfneisl winery, this wine originates from the Satz and Höblisch vineyards in the Alten Deutschkreutzer wine-growing region. The history of this wine is closely linked to the family, as the Shiraz vines were planted on the ancestral estate of Grandma Maria, to whom this special bottling is dedicated. The climatic conditions of Burgenland and the careful cultivation of the vineyards lay the foundation for a powerful yet elegant Shiraz with a clear sense of provenance.


The Pfneisl Shiraz MARIA’S VINEYARD is vinified dry and matures for 18 months in barriques, imparting depth, spice and structure. With an alcohol content of 14.5%, the 2022 vintage is full-bodied, juicy and harmoniously balanced. The style combines ripe fruit with delicate spice, mineral tension and a very long-lasting finish. Bottled with a natural cork, this Austrian Shiraz is still slightly closed and promises good ageing potential, which will further develop its complexity in the coming years.
