The La Scolca Gavi dei Gavi Bianco Secco Etichetta Nera DOCG 2024 is an iconic Gavi DOCG from Piedmont, which has been produced by La Scolca since 1919 and is regarded as the benchmark for high-quality Cortese wine. This Gavi Bianco Secco DOCG is made from 100 per cent Cortese grapes, which thrive in the hills of Piedmont. Fermentation takes place under temperature control at low temperatures, sometimes with a short maceration period, to intensify the structure and expression. The wine then remains on the fine lees until bottling, in the classic sur lie ageing process, which further enhances its complexity and texture. With an alcohol content of 12% vol., this Piedmont white wine is precise, mineral and multi-layered. The Etichetta Nera is regarded as the estate’s flagship wine and is synonymous with elegance, finesse and enduring quality within the segment of high-quality DOCG wines from Italy.
