The Salzl Grande Cuvée Josanna 2022, 14% ABV, 0.75 l, is a powerful, elegant red wine from Austria that impressively reflects the signature style of the renowned Salzl Seewinkelhof winery. This high-quality cuvée from Burgenland blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a complex, well-structured profile. The grapes come from carefully selected Lagers with loess-like chernozem on sandy loam with a high gravel content, as well as paratschernozem and sandy soils, which lend this Burgenland red wine its mineral depth.


Vinification follows a classic approach, with traditional maceration in steel tanks at around 30 °C and a maceration period of approximately 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The Grande Cuvée Josanna is then aged for around 12 months in small oak barrels, which develops its structure, finesse and aromatic complexity. With an alcohol content of 14 per cent, this Austrian red wine is full-bodied, well-balanced and elegant. The optimal drinking window is between 2026 and 2035, making this Salzl cuvée ideally suited to longer ageing.
