The Salzl Cuvée 3-5-8 Premium 2021 14% ABV 0.75 l is a powerful and elegant red wine cuvée from Burgenland, which ranks amongst the finest wines produced by the Salzl Seewinkelhof winery. This premium red wine from Austria blends the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties to create a complex composition with an international style and regional character. The vines grow on sandy soils and black earth composed of loamy silt with a high gravel content, which gives this Burgenland red wine its mineral structure and aromatic depth.

Vinification involves traditional maceration in stainless-steel tanks at around 30 °C, with a maceration period of approximately 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation, which lends the wine additional harmony. The cuvée, made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, is then aged for a full 24 months in small oak barrels made from 100 per cent new wood, giving this barrique-aged red wine its complex structure, delicate toasted aromas and impressive depth. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., this premium Austrian red wine is powerful, dense and superbly structured. The 2021 vintage has a drinking window from around 2025 to 2035, offering considerable ageing potential.
