Production takes place entirely at the distillery: 100 per cent of the barley and rye malt used is malted in-house on traditional malting floors and then kilned over local Danish peat and heather, creating a soft, campfire-like smokiness. The whisky is double-distilled in 24 small, directly-fired copper pot stills before maturing in American oak casks and receiving a finish in Madeira casks. This combination ensures depth, balance and a particularly rounded structure. The whisky is bottled at 43% ABV and is non-chill-filtered, ensuring that its structure, aroma and character are fully preserved.
