The rum was produced exclusively using the traditional pot still method and, with an ester content of around 1,300 to 1,400 gr/hl AA, ranks among the most aromatic examples of its category. This high ester profile delivers the characteristic intensity for which Hampden is renowned worldwide. In addition, the rum was matured in a freshly emptied ex-Oloroso sherry cask, which complements the distillate’s distinctive fruitiness with elegant sherry notes, nutty aromas and added complexity.
