Rey Campero Mezcal CUISHE 48.7% vol. 0.7 l is an exceptional artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca, produced from the rare Cuishe agave variety (Agave karwinskii). This particular agave variety grows significantly more slowly than traditional Espadín agaves and consequently develops a complex and distinctive flavour profile. This mezcal is produced in Candelaria Yegolé in the state of Oaxaca by Rómulo Sánchez Parada, a mezcalero who learnt his craft from his father and worked in the family-owned palenque from a young age. Following a period of financial hardship, he emigrated to the USA before returning to Oaxaca in 2003, reuniting his family and resuming traditional mezcal production. Today, Rey Campero is one of the most highly regarded producers of premium artisanal mezcals.


Rey Campero Cuishe is produced using traditional methods and bottled as a Joven Mezcal to preserve the agave’s original characteristics in their purest form. Distillation takes place in copper stills, which brings out the delicate fruity and mineral notes of the Cuishe agave particularly well. With a robust 48.7% ABV, this mezcal is intense, complex and authentic.
