The GlenDronach House Editions The Venetian Room is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky that combines GlenDronach’s traditional sherry cask maturation with influences from Italian wine casks. This edition forms part of the new, permanent House Editions range for global travel retail, created by Master Blender Rachel Barrie and launched to mark the 200th anniversary of the GlenDronach Distillery. The Venetian Room is inspired by the elegance, architecture and culture of fine dining in Venice. For the maturation process, The GlenDronach combines classic Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks with Italian Amarone red wine casks. It is precisely the influence of the Amarone casks that gives this edition a distinctive blend of dark fruit, sherry character and Italian wine cask notes.

At 46 per cent, The GlenDronach The Venetian Room is presented in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The three different cask types form the central feature of this bottling: whilst Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso represent the classic GlenDronach signature, the Amarone casks reflect the edition’s Italian inspiration. The whisky is also bottled without chill filtration. The House Editions took around two years to develop and, in addition to The Venetian Room, also include The Sevillian Room and The Parisian Room, with each variant interpreting a different international metropolis and a corresponding additional cask type. As a travel retail single malt with Amarone cask influence, The Venetian Room thus offers a particularly fruit-forward interpretation of the sherry-influenced The GlenDronach style.
