Shede Tuopai Six-Cereal is a traditional Chinese baijiu in the ‘strong-aroma’ style, characterised in particular by its base of six different types of grain. For production, Tuopai uses grain from the company’s own ‘Green Grain Base’. The recipe combines aromatic sorghum, sweet maize, wheat, glutinous rice, rice and barley. Together, these six cereals form the basis for the spirit’s characteristic, intensely aromatic style. The producer places particular emphasis on organically grown cereals that are as natural as possible. The combination of different raw materials is a key feature of this bottling and also illustrates why Tuopai Six-Cereal should be classified as a baijiu made from several types of grain, rather than as vodka, whisky or liqueur.


With a robust 52 per cent ABV in the 0.5-litre bottle, the Tuopai Six-Cereal Baijiu represents a classic, expressive example of Chinese distilling culture. The six selected grains are carefully blended to create the ‘Strong-Aroma’ bouquet desired for this bottling. Despite the high alcohol content, the producer describes its character as mild, smooth and refreshing, with a long-lasting finish. The Shede Tuopai Six-Cereal 52% thus combines the intense aromatics of a strong-aroma baijiu with a deliberately balanced structure.
