Jura THE ROAD Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a former travel retail bottling from the Jura Distillery and takes its name from the only road on the remote Isle of Jura. This road runs along the coast to the distillery, situated in the south-east of the island, and symbolises the close connection between whisky and the island community. THE ROAD has no age statement and is initially matured in ex-bourbon casks. The single malt is then given a special finish in casks that previously contained 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry. This combination blends Jura’s fruity house style with a distinctly sweeter, spicier sherry cask component. The whisky is bottled at 43.6% ABV in a generous 1-litre bottle.

The Jura Distillery is situated in Craighouse on the Scottish island of Jura and boasts a long tradition of whisky-making. THE ROAD was part of a range developed specifically for the global travel retail sector and is now classified by Jura as one of its earlier releases. A particularly distinctive feature is the interplay between American ex-bourbon casks and a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask finish, bringing apricot, dark sweetness, and notes of nuts and spices to the fore. The colour of the whisky is adjusted using caramel colouring E150a. With its 1-litre bottle and unique cask combination, the Jura THE ROAD 43.6% is of particular interest to connoisseurs of fruity, spicy island single malts and former travel retail bottlings.
