Description
The KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2023 is a characterful Sauvignon Blanc from the Vulkanland region of Styria, which combines its origins in the Ried Neusetzberg vineyard with a sophisticated ageing process. This single vineyard is classified as a ‘Erste STK Ried’, signifying a Styrian single-vineyard wine with a strong sense of place. The grapes are organically grown, with Weingut Krispel placing great emphasis on natural viticulture and the precise expression of the respective terroir. Following vinification, the wine is given ample time to develop and is aged for twelve months in large wooden casks. The careful use of wood enhances the wine’s structure and ageing potential without masking the Sauvignon Blanc’s distinctive character.
With an alcohol content of 13% in the 0.75-litre bottle, the KRISPEL Sauvignon Blanc Ried Neusetzberg 2023 is a dry, age-worthy white wine for lovers of spicy and terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc styles. Particularly noteworthy is the stated ageing potential until 2040, making the wine suitable both for immediate enjoyment and for longer bottle ageing. A high-quality DIAM closure is used. The combination of the single vineyard Ried Neusetzberg, organic viticulture, twelve months’ ageing in large wooden casks and the Vulkanland Steiermark DAC designation makes this vintage a multi-faceted example of Styrian Sauvignon Blanc and an interesting choice for sophisticated food pairings.
