Takamaka PTI LAKAZ Rum Batch 2 45.1% is a complex blended rum from the Seychelles, combining different raw materials, distillation methods and cask maturations. The base is traditionally pot-still-distilled Seychelles rum made from sugar cane, sourced from four different casks, including two port wine casks. This component is complemented by pot-still and column-still rum made from molasses, which has been matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks. For added depth, an eight-year-old molasses rum from Foursquare in Barbados is also included. It is precisely this combination of local Seychelles production, Caribbean rum tradition and different cask types that makes the Pti Lakaz a particularly distinctive release within the Takamaka range.

At 45.1% ABV, the Takamaka Pti Lakaz Batch 2 showcases its various components in a concentrated yet balanced manner. Dried apricot meets star anise, cocoa beans and dry spices, whilst the port and bourbon cask components contribute additional fruitiness, structure and cask-derived flavour. The rum is bottled without colouring, without added sugar and without chill filtration, ensuring that the natural character of the distillates used remains as unadulterated as possible. The 0.7-litre bottle is therefore particularly suited to lovers of unsweetened rum, tropical cask maturation and complex blends of pot still and column still distillates, who appreciate fruity as well as dry and spicy notes.
