The name ‘Vinaya’ comes from Sanskrit and means respect and gratitude – a deliberate tribute to the distillery’s founders and earlier generations who paved the way for today’s production. For the Bladnoch Vinaya Single Malt, distillates from first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill sherry casks are blended together. Whilst the bourbon casks emphasise fresh, floral and fruity notes, the sherry casks contribute additional richness, chocolate notes and a gentle depth. The result is a well-balanced Lowland single malt that combines the region’s characteristic lightness with a pleasantly structured cask influence.
