Botucal is the alternative brand of Roner Diplomatico, developed for markets with trademark conflicts. There is just such a conflict in Germany with the word mark Diplomatico. We are therefore only allowed to offer Botucal to our German customers. However, according to the manufacturer, the rum should be the same as the rum of the parent brand Diplomatico. One of the great rum discoveries of 2008 comes from the Venezuelan Distilerias Unidas. Botucal Reserva Exclusiva presents itself to the discerning connoisseur as full-bodied, complex and very different in character to well-known representatives of the country such as Cacique or Ocumare, which tend to appeal more through their lightness.

Distilled in copper pot stills made from molasses, Botucal Reserva Exclusiva matures for around 12 years in selected ex-bourbon barrels. With these bottlings, the producer is orientating itself towards the old Venezuelan style with heavy and warm tones, which has given way to a rather light and pleasing rum style of the country in recent years. The long ageing process gives it an incredibly intense body with exceptional balance, perfected by traditional experience and craftsmanship. A truly royal rum!
