The Bunnahabhain Distillery, situated on the picturesque coast of the Isle of Islay, was founded in 1881 and is renowned for its unique, unpeated whiskies. The distillery originally relied on maritime trade and reached a turning point in 1960 with the construction of a new road, which improved logistics. Following a brief closure in the 1930s and the last ship’s arrival in 1993, the road became the main supply route. In 2006, following its acquisition by Burn Stewart Distillers, the brand’s image was given a modern makeover. The water used for the whiskies comes from limestone springs and is channelled to the distillery without coming into contact with peat, which gives the whiskies their mild, characteristic flavour.

Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old is regarded as a true classic amongst Islay whiskies. Matured in a carefully selected combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, this Scotch develops a rich and opulent flavour profile. The typical peaty notes associated with an Islay malt are surprisingly subtle, lending the whisky a particular elegance.
