The Hannes Reeh Heideboden Cuvée Red 2021, 14% vol., 0.75 l, is a powerful yet elegant red wine cuvée from Burgenland that impressively reflects the region’s potential. Composed of 60 per cent Zweigelt, 20 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon and 20 per cent Merlot, it combines the rich fruitiness of Zweigelt with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the soft elegance of Merlot. The grapes are grown on gravelly soils with a sandy component and are carefully harvested by hand.


Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation and a maceration period of four weeks, which ensures intense colour and aromas. The subsequent ageing in stainless steel tanks and barriques lends the wine additional complexity and depth. Sealed with a screw cap, it retains its freshness and aromas perfectly. It has a cellaring potential until 2033, making it a special treat whether enjoyed young or matured.
