The Hannes Reeh Heideboden Cuvée Red 2021 is a powerful yet elegantly structured Austrian red wine from Burgenland, which impressively reflects the unique terroir of the Heideboden in the Seewinkel. The cuvée is composed of 60% Zweigelt, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot – a combination that blends regional character with an international flair. The vines grow on a gravelly soil with a sandy component, which ensures excellent drainage and minerality. Thanks to the warm Pannonian climate with cool nights, the grapes develop intense aromas and a precise structure.


The grapes are harvested by hand before undergoing spontaneous fermentation, which lends the cuvée its natural authenticity. Following a maceration period of around four weeks, the wine is aged in stainless-steel tanks and, in part, in barriques, which imparts both freshness and depth and complexity to the wine. Sealed with a screw cap, it retains its aromatic purity and drinking pleasure for years. It has ageing potential until 2033, which underlines its exceptional substance and stability.
