The Bollinger Champagne SPECIAL CUVÉE Brut 12% vol. in a 0.75-litre bottle with a gift box is the iconic cuvée of the long-established Champagne Bollinger house and, like no other champagne, embodies the Maison’s unmistakable style. The name ‘Special Cuvée’ was coined as early as 1911, when Champagne Bollinger’s British representative felt that the term ‘Non-Vintage Brut’ did not do justice to this exceptional champagne. The cuvée is composed of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier. Over 85% of the grapes used come from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, which underlines the high quality of the base wine. The numerous reserve wines make a significant contribution to the characteristic style, some of which are aged in magnum bottles for between 7 and 15 years. The subsequent cellaring lasts considerably longer than prescribed by the appellation regulations and lends the champagne additional depth and complexity. With a moderate dosage of 7–8 g/l, this Brut Champagne is elegant, balanced and multi-layered.
